Emerald City Basketball Academy Spring/Summer 2012 Team Information

Youth Season April-Aug
HS Season April-Oct


Costs: $200/month training, $600 youth team fee, $800 HS team fee.
Training: All team members must register for training. We have training for all positions. We recommend 2-4 classes a week depending on your schedule.
Practices: Teams practice once a week at the same location and time each week.
Event Schedule: There are different schedules for different level teams. But each team will get the same amount of games which is roughly 6-8 games a month. After the selections have been made you will receive a schedule.
Gym locations: Seattle, Edmonds, Preston, Mercer Island, Auburn, and Tumwater.
Tryout results: You will be notified via phone call or email. We will also post the results from tryouts on our website. These rosters are not final! We will have to go through the process of confirmations. There will be multiple coaches doing evaluations. Please try to make both tryouts.
Parent meetings: There will be a parent meeting during the tryouts to go over the season and costs. Please have a parent present for the meeting. We will also have individual team meetings at your local gym after the teams have been set.

Spring-Summer season overview


Program Synopsis: ECBA is based on player development first and teams second. We offer unlimited training class, so players can learn and improve, then apply what they learn to the games. All player must attend training classes in order to play on ECBA teams

Season Length: Grades 4th-8th Teams, Middle of March-August

Grades: 9th-12th Late March-Nov. HS players will play, train and practice March-May.

JUNE is training ONLY, we do this because we know how important HS Summer basketball is to the high school teams. We also know it’s the end of the school and finals and end of the year projects are due. We want to be there for the players to train and continue to build of their fundamentals and still leave time for these other important things.

July-Oct: Training Games and Practice. We want to really hit the off-season hard with training and a lot of games against top select teams in the area and nationally. By really focusing on high level training, coaching and tough competition. ECBA feels this will best improve the player for the next HS season. We our players to strive to move up the ladder on their school team. Everyone is at a different place in their basketball carrers, ECBA wants to help move you forward.

NOV: Is intensive training and getting all last minute details sharpened before NOV 15th start of HS Season.
Season Schedule: insert boys then insert girls

Practices: 1 day a week, sometimes teams can practice twice a week if it works out for the coach and there is gym space is availability. The practices are 1.5 hours in length.

Costs: Team Fee $600 it can be broken up into 2 payments. Then unlimited training monthly fee is $200 a month for the duration of the 5-month commitment.

Coaches: Ecba Team coaches will go through ECBA coaching clinics and appropriate background check and screening through ECBA Coaching Director.

CBA Trainers: Ecba trainers follow Jasen Baskett training system. Coach Baskett wrote a 52 week manual for each position; such as shooting, point guard, wing, post and combination class. This manual is taught to the trainers through coach Baskett and then followed at every gym. The training system and coaching staff is what separates ECBA from everyone else in the nation. Coach Baskett’s unique approach to blending his playing experience, his academic background in human kinetics and his background in martial arts into one complete week by week learning basketball progression is simply unmatched.

Swish and Pioneers Coaches: Swish and Pioneer is are top team at each age level. We try to find the most qualified players throughout the academy to participate on these teams. The ECBA staff and the coaches below pick the teams from previous seasons play and the tryouts for new players.

Retreat Synopsis: Our spring training retreat is an opportunity for all of ECBA’s middle players to practice, bond, learn, exercise, work together, in an inclusive and energetic setting.

Each team will have four 2 hour practices between Friday evening and Sunday evening – these intense practices will provide the structure for your team as you move into spring/summer leagues and tournaments!
It is important that every player attend camp, otherwise, you will miss important information and practices!

Retreat Location: ECBA Auburn, Auburn HS and Auburn Riverside.
Retreat Schedule: A day schedule for retreat will be sent the week prior to the retreat. This schedule will be a minute by minute retreat outline that will email to everyone in ECBA. It will include registration locations and times.
Retreat Time: HS ONLY and some JR High, these teams will start Friday night at 6:00-10:00pm Saturday 8am-10:00pm and Sunday 8am-6:00pm.
4th-8th Days and times will be Saturday 8am-10:pm Sunday 8am-6:00pm

Times will vary for each team, some teams might start later and sometimes might finish retreat sooner. This all be in each teams retreat packet that will be emailed out to all members’.

These are day camps, NO OVER NIGHT STAY. This will allow more of the younger ECBA teams to attend and give us more quality court space for all teams
